When Seb's longtime boyfriend broke up with him, it seemed that his whole world simply fell apart and he wouldn't be able to put it all back together. However, having his two best friends at his side, on whom he can always rely, he starts to get on his feet.
During their camping trip, organized to improve Seb's mood, drunk Seb kisses Connor and Matt in a very meaningful way, turning their world upside down. The feelings for one another, which Matt and Seb haven't realized they have, begin to take shape, while Connor feels a strong need to get closer to his friends, to whom he has been attracted for quite a long time.
But are they ready to risk their friendship, just because they want more from life and from one another?

"I Wished For You" is a truly wonderful novel, in which the advantages follow the advantages from the very beginning. The best proof is the fact that from the very first page the really well-presented theme of friendship comes to the fore. I really liked that in her book, Colette Davison showed us a group of three men who, regardless of any obstacles, can rely on one another in every situation and are bound together for good and for bad. What is equally important, when something bad happens to one of them, he immediately seeks for comfort and closeness of the others, and they appear on his call as soon as possible. Seb, Matt and Connor are such close friends that in the case of two of them, realizing their feelings, or more precisely love, takes a little more time. Thus, their friendship doesn't end with the moment they decide to start a love relationship, but it continues, which makes them friends and lovers at the same time. And let me add that the author managed to present it in a truly excellent and very clear way.
I also like the fact that in her novel, Colette Davison gives her main characters some time to get used to their feelings, as well as to the polyamori that they discover together. All of this is new for them, but it is worth noting that none of them rejects his feelings towards the other two men, only to fit into a familiar 1:1 scheme imposed by society and the world. What's more, in this way the author showed how natural for her characters it is to love one another, because just like mother doesn't think about which of her children she loves more, they also don't analyze their feelings to choose only one of their two beloveds. In addition, the three friends not only do not choose between one another, as they try to find their way in this completely new relationship at once, but they also try to fill their families and the people closest to them in on their love. I admit that it really captivated me because it emphasizes the strong intimacy between Seb, Matt and Connor.
It is also worth noting that "I Wished For You" concentrates also on a topic of the family, which has a very important place in the novel, as it directly influences our leads. The author presents three types of family. The first one: broken, absent, lost, the problems of which had a negative impact on the psyche of a young, sensitive and loving man. The second one: unconditionally loving and ready to support the child at any price, regardless of his age. And the third one: incomplete, in case of which loneliness is the reason for exerting pressure on a young man, trying to manage his life and sticking one's nose where it doesn't belong. As far as this last family model is concerned, the author focused not only on one of the main characters, but also on the evolution of a lonely mother, who – because of her fear of being lonely and her pain – is ultimately forced to open her eyes, mind and accept her son's choices. Let's add that Colette Davison in a great manner combined the theme of the family with the subjects of polyamory, love, emotions and psyche of the three protagonists, thanks to which she created a truly amazing novel.
Finally, in a few words I would like to refer to "I Wished For You" as a whole, because this novel could be divided into two parts. To be honest, it took me by surprise as I did not expect it when reading this story, and I admit it had a huge impact on me. But let's go a bit slower and start with the fact that the first part of the book focuses on a really beautiful, charming and largely sweet story, which also has a very romantic side, which we find, for example, in the wishes on the falling stars. I love reading the novels which are extremely sweet, so I really liked this part of "I Wished For You". However, as we read, we reach the second half of the book, where the more touching subjects are raised, and which is even more accurate in terms of the characters' psyche than its first part. What's more, there are some moments, especially at the very end, when the novel simply makes us cry. I admit that I cried like a child and I couldn't understand how the author could have done it to me as my heart shattered to pieces. Luckily, I had a packet of tissues with me!
In conclusion, "I Wished For You" is a truly amazing novel that deeply moves the readers and immediately conquers their hearts and souls. The characters are charming and we fall in love with them in a blink of an eye, while their story makes us smile, moves us to tears, as well as makes us completely focused on it. To say that I recommend this novel to you is simply not enough. You must read it!

Excerpt
Matt adjusted his jogging bottoms and leaned back against the sofa. The next words popped out of his mouth unfiltered. "I could do with a blow job."
Seb snorted out a loud laugh. "Too much information." He patted Matt's shoulder. "But hey, if you're desperate, I don't mind obliging." Seb's laughter trailed off into a nervous chuckle. "Umm… that was a joke."
“Yeah, yeah, of course." Matt couldn't look at Seb. A week ago, he'd have taken a comment like that and ribbed his friend with it mercilessly. Now, he wasn't sure at all that it had been meant in jest. He wasn't even sure that he wanted it to be a joke. He rubbed his jaw, clearing his throat again. "What would you do if I said yes?”
Seb twisted on the sofa so he was facing Matt. "You're not going to say yes."
"What if I did?" Matt kept his stare on the ceiling, but he was still able to see Seb shrug out of the corner of his eye.
“I'd give you one.”
Seb's reply was so matter-of-fact that it sent a chill running up Matt's spine. It did nothing to ease the pressure in his cock. If anything, blood pumped to it faster.
"Really?" Matt asked. Why the hell was he still talking? It was like he was engaged in a game of chicken with Seb, trying to see which one of them would back down first. He had no idea how far his head, or his cock, was willing to take it.
“Sure, why not? It's just a blow job, right? It wouldn't mean anything.”
"But we're friends," Matt stuttered.
"Wouldn't be the first time I've sucked off a friend."
Colette’s personal love story began at university, where she met her future husband. An evening of flirting, in the shadow of Lancaster castle, eventually led to a fairytale wedding. She’s enjoying her own ‘happy ever after’ in the north of England with her husband, two beautiful children and her writing.
