Ten years ago, Seth witnessed something he should never have seen. What's more, he took pictures because of which a really dangerous man, known as the Doctor, could go to prison. Not having enough courage to use them, Seth chose to run away and for years lived on the street. Now he is slowly getting back on his feet and he is helping others who are homeless, just like he had been not so long ago. Unfortunately, his past didn't forget about him and Seth is forced to face the nightmare from years ago, but this time his encounter with the Doctor will cost Seth his life.
Dante is an angel who, from many years, is assigned to look after Seth. Watching this innocent, warm-hearted boy, he slowly and inevitably falls crazy in love with him. The problem is that angels are not allowed to love someone. However, when Seth is in danger, Dante doesn't care about any rules. Unfortunately, he fails to save his charge and all he can do now is help Seth's ghost to bring justice before choosing one of the paths to eternity that will separate them forever.
But can't the rules be ignored to catch happiness that all the time escapes from Seth's and Dante's hands? And if there is a way for these two to stay together forever, wouldn't it be worth fighting for?

Nowadays, the paranormal romance is probably the most popular literary genre, which undoubtedly makes it difficult for authors of this type of books to create an original story that the readers will remember for a long time. However, I have the impression that Colette Davison and T.N. Nova really managed to achieve this goal in a pretty good style. For "For You I Fall" is a story about love of two beings who, although at some point in their existence have contact with each other, ultimately belong to two different plans – an angel and a ghost. What is important, this is not a book about two people who met randomly a moment ago and now feel something for each other, but it's about love between two beings who already knew each other for some time – the ghost of a murdered young man and the angel who guarded him during his lifetime. The authors have transformed the well-known and popular motif of the guardian angel's relationship with a person they keep an eye on into something much more interesting and having elements of the drama, as they didn't limit themselves to presenting only a forbidden feeling, but also added to it the problems of death and pressure of passing time that the lovers still have before the soul will finally leave to meet its destiny. I admit that by doing all of this the authors immediately conquered my heart and many times brought tears to my eyes.

The original relationship is not the only advantage of this novel. "For You I Fall" also has a really good storyline, which consists of feelings and action that focus mainly on searching for the solutions to the problems the protagonists face. The authors have combined these two elements in perfect proportions, thanks to which the reader is not bored even for a moment. While reading we can't complain that the characters focus only on the difficulties they have to face or that everything revolves around their relationship and intimacy. It was thanks to maintaining this balance that reading this novel was such a pleasure. If, however, I am to point out a con of the plot, I think it would be the fact that the Doctor problem was solved too fast and too easily. I must admit that after a strong impression he left on me at the beginning of this story, I expected a little more "fireworks" at the end – to some extent even in the literal sense of the word, taking into account what we learn about him. Anyway, the whole storyline looks quite good and is really interesting, and that's a huge advantage of this book.

Anyway, I must point out that in my opinion the most important part of the novel are the emotions presented in it. Believe me, this story almost overflows with them, as Seth and Dante are the characters who not only exist but also feel, and they feel a lot. Every moment of their life, including afterlife, is filled with feelings, emotions and a tangle of thoughts. This is really fantastic because that is how we are able to get to know the main characters really well, and what's more, they share all their emotions with us, the readers. So we can say that the action of "For You I Fall" takes place on two levels – on the one hand we have the "physical" events, on the other hand the corresponding emotions and feelings. After all, it is not just love that comes into play here, but also fear, death, wish to fix some mistakes made during life, breaking rules or taking risks in the name of love. The range of the emotions presented in the novel is really vast, which means that "For You I Fall" really can touch us and sometimes move us to tears.

Finally I would like to discuss one more thing that speaks in favor of this novel – the construction of the world presented in here. We are only at the very beginning of our adventure with "Angels & Misfits" series so many secrets of this universe are not yet known to us, but the authors in this volume managed to show the readers at least some of the laws that rule this world. And it's not just about some laws established by people, that should be followed depending on the race – including paranormal races – but first of all about the laws of physics. Each of us is subject to them to a certain extent and it is no different with the beings living in this fictional universe. Usually, we do not pay attention to this issue, but in the case of "For You I Fall" it is impossible to omit this topic. Why? Above all, we must remember that we are dealing here with a ghost, and therefore a being without a real physical body. Colette Davison and T.N. Nova emphasize it many times in various ways. However, we can see the real genius of the authors when we learn that there is a way to make the ghost corporeal. And yet the corporeal ghost is still not 100% corporeal, as it has no physical body. The authors make us aware of this fact in a way that should be appreciated, but I can't say anything more because I don't want to spoil your fun. In any case, emphasizing that paranormal beings are also subject to physics is proof that the universe created by the authors was well thought over and solidly constructed.

In conclusion, Colette Davison and T.N. Nova on the foundation of well-known motifs created a unique and quite original novel. They perfectly presented the kaleidoscope of emotions experienced by the characters and combined together action and feelings. Thanks to this, "For You I Fall" brings tears to our eyes and makes us smile. This is a really great novel that I wholeheartedly recommend!

Headcanon: From time to time, looking for a little thrill, Seth and Dante make love in places that are full of people because of their beauty and/or historical value. However, they always find some space just for themselves where no one can see them.

Fanfiction idea: Sex in the air at night, over a festively decorated, wonderfully lit city.

AU idea: Seth is a photographer and Dante is a model. Because many celebrities often flirt with Seth, he is hard to get. Dante needs to try really hard to get his attention. One day, when they get stuck in the elevator, it turns out that Seth has claustrophobia and during a panic attack, Dante tries to distract him with kisses and caresses.

Sometimes you must fall before you can fly free.

Despite having had a rough life, Seth has a big heart. After spending nearly ten years sleeping rough on the streets of New York, he’s managed to get himself freelance work and a place to live. But his new-found security is about to be torn apart, as the horrors of his past come back to haunt him in the worst possible way.

Dante was sent to watch over a young Seth when his mother died. As an angel, he had many rules to follow. The most important of which was to never fall in love—especially when it involves a human who is your charge. For the last ten years, Dante has kept his feelings for Seth hidden. That is until the night Seth’s past catches up with him.

When Seth is murdered, their destinies are changed forever. Feelings and emotions come to the surface, but will the rules that govern the afterlife keep Dante and Seth apart for eternity, or will they be able to find their happily ever after together?

Excerpt

Seth kept the last cup of coffee, now barely lukewarm, for the man who always sat alone, distant from the rest. There was something about him that mesmerized Seth in a way he couldn't describe. It was probably the man’s eyes, which were a vivid shade of blue that pierced even the darkest night. He sat on the same bench every night, huddled in a tatty black trench coat.
“Seth.” Blue Eyes nodded his thanks as he wrapped his hands around the cup Seth handed to him.
“It’s not very warm, I’m afraid.”
Blue Eyes shrugged, never taking his gaze off Seth as he sipped the coffee. His dark hair fell to his shoulders in waves, framing his handsome face. His olive skin tone made him appear healthier than the rest, although Seth was reasonably sure that was deceptive. A short beard and mustache helped further define his broad chin and sculpted cheekbones. Seth thought to ask his name, but couldn't convince the question to leave his lips.
He was always like that around Blue Eyes: tongue-tied and awkward. The man was incredibly gorgeous, and Seth couldn't help but be physically attracted to him. Maybe in another lifetime, under very different circumstances, he would have the confidence to ask Blue Eyes more about himself; discover the mysteries sparkling in the depths of his eyes. But things were what they were and showing interest in the man was wholly inappropriate. So, instead of asking Blue Eyes his name, he uttered a goodbye and turned to go.
