When Cory opens his eyes, he doesn't know where he is or who he actually is. All he's got is some cash and documents that seem to be fake. However, the man doesn't break down, as he decides to find out who he is. By luck, Cory decides to find answers to his numerous questions in the small town of Fox Hollow. It turns out that the town hides some amazing secrets, just like Cory himself. After all, witches don't cast some extremely nasty curses, the removal of which requires a really great magic skill, on everyone.
"Imaginary Lover" by Morgan Brice is the eighth volume in the "Beyond the Realm: Remember" series created by eight amazing authors. As this time the one who takes us on an amazing adventure is none other than Morgan Brice/Gail Z. Martin, we can rightly expect that this story is filled with all the things we like the most, as this author always generously gives us what we want. Reading "Imaginary Lover" we enter the universe we know and love from many urban fantasy novels that we have been reading for years thanks to our beloved Morgan Brice/Gail Z. Martin. In her latest novel, we can find everything that we love in her stories, i.e. magic, people endowed with extraordinary powers, various races of paranormal beings, great love between people who are destined to be together, courageous heroes who must face evil. However, in "Imaginary Lover" we can also find an element that differs this story from all the previous ones, because our main character, Cory, doesn't get to know his other half on the pages of this novel. He's already in relationship with love of his life but must remember his beloved and reconnect with him. Sounds interesting, right?
An important element of "Imaginary Lover" universe's construction is the fact that there is a very clear connection between this novel, the previously published story titled "Huntsman" and other urban fantasy novels written by the author. Don't worry, people for whom "Imaginary Lover" is their first Morgan Brice's book will have no trouble following the events of this volume, and they will undoubtedly be pleased to learn other stories related to the one told in this novel. As for the author's fans, they will undoubtedly be delighted to see how "Imaginary Lover" and "Huntsman" intertwine with the author's other stories. While we knew that the recent books written by Morgan Brice are set in the same universe, we were not entirely sure at which point they connect with one another. Now we have received the answer to this question and the next piece of the huge jigsaw puzzle presenting the world created by Morgan Brice/Gail Z. Martin has found its place.
Fantastic universe is not the only advantage of "Imaginary Lover", as in this book we can also find some characters we known and love, as well as some new ones. I admit that I really like the fact that the author gave us a chance to once again meet the characters we got to know recently, as well as someone we have not seen for a long time. What's more, it allows us to get to know some of the protagonists we know a little better, which is also extremely important, because in the case of Morgan Brice/Gail Z. Martin's novels, the characters are always one of the greatest advantages of her books. And since this is the case, I must write more about Cory, who is our main character, and thus the new face of the author's universe. What's important, we get to know him at the same time he is trying to get to know himself, which is undoubtedly very interesting and unique. It's even more significant as Cory relies on body memory, feelings and inner voice, and therefore on some of the elements that make us who we are, that remain when we cannot count on actual memories and the past.
In conclusion, "Imaginary Lover" is a very interesting novel that is part of the "Beyond the Realm: Remember" series, and at the same time is another installment set in Morgan Brice/Gail Z. Martin's urban fantasy universe. Going on this fascinating adventure, we can count on a good company of wonderful characters, exciting moments, a variety of deep feelings connecting the heroes and some truly unforgettable moments. What can I say, read this book. It is worth it!

Book 6: The Manuscript by J.D. Light - October 22nd
Blurb
“There's no time. Remember the Manuscript.”
Omi has had vague but vivid dreams his whole life but would forget them within minutes of opening his eyes. When he started writing the dreams down as soon as he woke up, he suddenly realized the significance when things in those dreams would pop up in his daily life. A broken toaster that caused a ridiculous automobile accident that was thankfully not fatal to anyone. A pop can that exploded in the middle of class and covered his least favorite teacher in orange soda.
Omi's dreams about a man with sunflower eyes were his favorite and enough to fill the pages of a manuscript. He couldn't help but fall madly in love with the man, even if he never had a name. But the beautiful stranger never appeared like the other objects in his dreams and with every day that he didn't, Omi became more and more depressed until he finally had to lock the manuscript away and stop writing about the man.
Six years have passed since Omi has touched the manuscript, but he would recognize the man that shows up at his favorite coffee shop anywhere, even before he gets close enough for Omi to see his sunflower eyes. How is a guy supposed to react to seeing the man he's been in love with from the time he was eighteen in real life for the first time? Probably NOT how Omi does.
Canton knows that Omi is his oracle the moment he sees him… just like he knows that Omi is his mate from the very beginning. But that is impossible, since fate weavers haven't had mates in centuries, and it is absolutely forbidden to mate your oracle.
Canton has waited for his oracle for two hundred long years, and he desperately wants to finish his work, but the more time he spends with the feisty man, the harder it is to remember to keep his distance emotionally. How can he possibly spend endless hours with a man he wants so much and not get to treasure him like he wants?
The answers to that just might be found in the pages of a manuscript Omi isn't sure he wants to share.
