It all comes down to trusting the devil you know!

Blurb

Seth and Evan met “on the job” when Evan was the intended sacrifice of a dark coven, and Seth came to the rescue. Now, they’ve teamed up to stop a century of ritual murders and get justice for Seth’s brother Jesse and the other victims.

Seth and Evan have a plan to stop the next witch disciple, plus new allies and magic. But this time, the warlock knows they're coming, and he has plans of his own. When Seth disappears and is trapped in a spell that gives him his heart’s desire, can he free himself in time to help Evan?

And when Evan’s younger brother shows up unexpectedly, can Evan trust Parker to have his back? It all comes down to trusting the devil you know!

The Devil You Know is a thrill-packed urban fantasy MM paranormal romance with plenty of supernatural suspense, hurt/comfort, hot sex, found family, and dark magic and features an evolving, established romantic relationship with all the feels.

"The Devil You Know" is the sixth installment in the "Witchbane" series by Morgan Brice, and thus a volume in which the danger is increasing, death looks more and more boldly in the eyes of our heroes, and the reader follows the story with a wildly beating heart. So far, our boys have had sometimes larger and sometimes smaller advantage of surprise attack. However, at the moment they have lost it irretrievably. On the literary side, the novel undoubtedly benefits from it, because it is more unpredictable and the reader is definitelly more interested in the story. What happens next with our characters depends even more than ever on the author and her mood, because the greater the danger means more opportunities for irreparable "damage" to the characters. I think that is what we fear most when we read an unpredictable novel and "The Devil You Know" is undoubtedly this type of story.

This volume of the series is also a source of indescribable emotions and fear for the characters. The way we have traveled with Seth and Evan has brought us so close to them that not only their joy, but also their anxiety and fears are ours. When reading "The Devil You Know", we often put ourselves in our boys' shoes, which intensifies the emotions that fill us while reading. The reader really feels fear for the heroes, and just like them, tries to find a way out of a difficult situation, to predict the next move of the enemy, to ensure the safety of another person. Reading this novel, we are part of it, and because the action is moving forward very quickly, we cannot tear ourselves away from reading, which means we are locked in the amazing and dangerous reality of the "Witchbane" series. In short, loyal fans of the series will not be disappointed.

Already in the previous installment of "Witchbane" we saw that our heroes, although fighting together for a good cause, to some extent had to struggle with it all alone, because the opponents targeted not only Seth and Evan as a group, but also as individuals. In "The Devil You Know" the fact that they fight together, but nevertheless separately, has intensified even more, which puts our charatcters in an even more difficult situation. It is easier for all of us to fight by someone else's side than to choose the path of solitude, so I am convinced that the struggles of our boys presented in this volume reach deeper into the hearts of readers and have a greater impact on them. Eventually Seth and Evan began to fully rely on each other, worked out a tactic to fight together, and now the enemy wants to deprive them of this advantage of unity at all costs. This really adds a lot more drama to the novel as it affects not only the action of the novel but also the romantic element.

Speaking of the romance in "The Devil You Know"... Until recently, Seth and Evan's crusade was a threat to their lives, which made us worried mainly about their health and physical condition. Now, however, I feel that the enemy is also trying to threaten the relationship of our heroes. After all, their love is their strength. So if the balance that the boys have developed in their life together is turned upside down, it is impossible to predict how it will affect Seth and Evan's relationship. Are they strong enough to survive enemy attacks? We want to believe it. But after all, our boys are only human. So how much can they take? It seems to me that many readers will ask such questions when they reach for "The Devil You Know". It shows how with each volume the series changes and evolves along with the characters.

All in all, "The Devil You Know" is a really great continuation of the "Witchbane" series. It keeps you in suspense, makes you think, pulls us into this amazing world created by the author. This is a true must-read novel.
