Noel doesn't really know what he wants to do, he is looking for a place in the world and that is why he volunteers to help the homeless in need. Because of his need to help others, one day he meets Ash - a man beaten up in front of a club, whom Noel takes for a homeless person. He decides to take a risk and takes the stranger home with him. Unfortunately, Ash is not the person Noel thinks he is, which ultimately only complicates the life of this stubborn and relentless man. But this time the main problem is no longer the homelessness, but human trafficking.

"Blood Money" is a really good novel by Fyn Alexander, which will undoubtedly appeal to all readers who like novels revolving around "something" and "someone". After all, reading this book, from the very beginning, our attention is drawn to the main characters, who are presented in the novel in various shades of gray. Even sweet Noel who wants to save the world isn't perfect after all. I believe that the juxtaposition and comparison of the above-mentioned human "shades of gray", which we see clearly in the case of these characters, make "Blood Money" all the more interesting. The problems and demons that Ash and Noel have to deal with in their everyday personal lives are also important, because they give them expressiveness, create them, and have an impact on both of our boys. If you want to meet Ash and Noel, find out what kind of people they are, try "Blood Money". It's worth it.

In "Blood Money" I also appreciate the well-balanced balance between fast action and quiet moments marked by "slices of life". This is especially important when we consider the fact that the novel deals with very difficult topics, such as addiction and human trafficking. Too much concentration of such a heavy topic wouldn't be good for us, so each relatively lighter moment is a chance for us to take a breath before the next action. And believe me, if you would like to tell someone about the events that take place in this book, there is really a lot to talk about. Not to mention the fact that when we start reading "Blood Money", we cannot take a break from this novel as we absorb it with bated breath. So it is undoubtedly a book which we can later blame for our sleepless nights, sleepiness at work and postponed duties.

What I also loved about "Blood Money" is the way it presents the real feelings and emotions of the characters. I think many readers will identify with Ash and Noel as they read this book, because we know exactly where all these feelings and emotions come from, whether it is guilt, disappointment, sadness, joy, determination. It is also worth mentioning that it is impossible to list all the emotions that accompany the characters of this novel, as there are so many of them, and all of them are a perfect counterpart of those that real people feel. So we can successfully conclude that Ash and Noel are characters with living, true souls and hearts. All this means that the main characters are closer to us with every page we read, and their story becomes addictive.

To sum it up, "Blood Money" is a great and really worth reading novel that tackles difficult topics in a remarkable way and makes you want to dig deeper into the story. Thanks to all this, regardless of whether you like heavy or light novels, "Blood Money" will appeal to you, and the heroes will quickly become your friends.

Headcanon: No matter which event Noel celebrates, he always invites at least one homeless person to his house to let the shower, eat and sleep in a warm place.

Fanfiction idea: Noel and Ash are traveling in a hot air balloon.

AU idea: High school!AU Ash is a school hooligan and Noel is a top student. They meet and get to know each other when Noel comes home from extracurricular activities and sees Ash fighting with boys from another school.
